Best Decorated Bathrooms

BRAVE BLACK

An Alexander McQueen skull pillow was the catalyst for this bold en suite bathroom in Chicago's trendy Wicker Park neighborhood. "I wanted play!" Says designer SuzAnn Kletzien, who notes that putting a contemporary, jewelry-inspired chandelier over a claw-foot tub "surely satisfied that need."

FRESH CITRUS

The powder room's present citrus-yellow wallpaper within this colorful home appears much fresher with the addition of a window color in a chartreuse-yellow silk, trimmed in Barbara Barry's Tang Tassel -- equally by Krave.

GRANDFATHER CLOCK

Fill a narrow stretch of wall with an heirloom-worthy, grandfather-style clock. Now you'll learn you are running late in fashion.

TRELLIS ACCENTS

Chinoiserie meets orangery in the trellis-accented powder area, with millwork by Philippe Le Manach of all Accents of France. Farrow & Ball paints in Dix Blue and treillage in Plummett, either the walls. The lantern above is from Charles Edwards.

CORNER MIRROR

The planet's smallest powder rooms should copy this configuration. While clutter gets wrapped behind the cloth skirt sink maximizes each inch hung. Add a dose of charm by sneaking in an elegant orchid and mounting plates.
